PetraKon was founded by senior healthcare leaders bringing operational and clinical experience to integrated One Health project delivery.

Aikaterini (Katerina) Papadopoulou

Co-Founder · Chief Executive

Katerina brings fifteen years of healthcare executive leadership in operations, compliance, and government program delivery. As CEO of a US-based healthcare services company, she directs multi-jurisdictional contracts with expertise in quality assurance, policy modernization, and digital platforms for performance monitoring. Her cross-disciplinary background (healthcare architecture from Tulane and operational leadership across complex public-sector environments) anchors PetraKon's delivery practice. Greek-born and multilingual, she connects EU institutional contexts with operational rigor.

Erik McLaughlin, MD, MPH

Co-Founder · Chief Medical Officer

Erik is a physician-executive with two decades of frontline clinical practice and fifteen years of medical oversight across public-sector and federal programs. A US-trained MD with an MPH and Diploma in Clinical Tropical Medicine from Tulane, plus fellowships in emergency and rural medicine, he has led multidisciplinary teams across 41 states and six continents. His expertise spans clinical governance, infectious disease response, public health systems, and field operations in austere environments.

Listed members are not employed by PetraKon. The relationship is informal. Membership is unpaid; engagement on specific projects is compensated separately at standard rates. Expect a brief introductory conversation before any listing.
